This grit is great for starting a dull edge, and more minor repairs. The texture is rough enough to cut steel quickly, but smooth enough to give a shaving edge that can easily be polished on finer stones. While not everybody requires one, they are great for collectors and folks that restore vintage blades.
Naniwa Professional stones are harder than most, so they stay flat better and last much longer than cheaper options. This stone is also great for finishing most hunting knives.
Always flatten your stone with a truing stone after honing.

If there are any problems with your order, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt. Kent of Inglewood will not be responsible for any claims made after 48 hours. For breakage resulting from carrier transit, please keep the entirety of original item(s) as well as all packaging and packing materials for future inspection by carrier. If the package is not delivered within expected delivery date, please contact us immediately. We will start the investigation with carrier. In case of loss of item(s), only insured packages will be covered for replacement.

"If you don't have any other sharpening stone, then getting a 1000 or 2000 grit would be the ones to have. Sharpening on a stone beats sharpening on anything else. Give it a try. But please watch some videos on how to use these, before actually using them. There is technique required!"
