Great price for a rough stone!

"It's a really nice rough stone for the price. This definitely couldn't be your only stone at 150grit-200grit. Its very muddy when thinning a knife, and would lose material pretty quickly if you were using it a lot. But still $20 I should of bought 2 of them to have one as a spare. next time I know though."

Q&A

I'm struggling to understand the recommendation to soak for 20-30 minutes. My example will shed abrasive insanely fast after a five minute soak. What is gained by soaking this stone that long?
Hi A Longer soak time will allow the stone not to dry as fast so you don't have to apply water as much while sharpening. Also longer soak will give better lubrication. You can certainly start using them with 5min soak but requires more frequent water application. The wear speed won't change. This is pretty soft and fast-wear stone.
