This is a solid splitting axe, intended for heavier duties such as splitting logs and wood. The shape of the head, in combination with it’s slightly convex grinding, allows the axe to split large rounds of wood with less effort. The Hult Splitting axe has a long and straight handle made from American hickory, enabling the user to gain maximum control and force when splitting logs. The name of this axe has its origin in Hult, the area where Hults Bruk was founded. Like most old Swedish geographical names, it describes the surrounding landscape of the place.

"Razor sharp. Best axe I have ever owned!"
"I have had the Abi axe for years and when I needed a splitter. No other option in my options!"
"Looks very nice but havent used it yet"
"Well constructed as expected from the Swedes! Nicely crafted / forged axe head. Looks nicely hand crafted, not mass produced. crap. Nicole made handle of quality wood. Nicely polished, very sharp edge. Works nicely with the Hultafors splitting wedge also purchased here. Thx again👊"
"Recently got this axe, and after several days of splitting I can say it’s a great tool for the job. Very sharp out of the box, and nice classy leather sheath. Head is very manageable and the straight handle feels good on those full-stem swings. The head shape really seems to help some with a better split when encountering knots. I use this for making my medium size wood pieces from the large splits I bought from a local arborist. I tried it on full large uncut logs, (just for kicks) but no dice. A heavy maul is a tool for a reason. This axe along with my small forest axe take care of 90% of my axe needs. Two thumbs up. (Can’t comment on durability yet)."
"Pretty authentic"
"This is a great axe, excellent quality and craftsmanship."
"It’s beautiful and works so well. I’ve always had cheap axes, I never imagined the difference a quality axe makes. Staff at the store were amazing as always."
"The head and handle are well constructed. It handles easy splitting woods, like lodgepole pine, nicely. It struggles with woods that have a lot of branches or is larger than 12" diameter. We don't have many hard woods in my area, so I haven't had an opportunity to use it on oak or maple or the like. You could use it for felling, in a pinch. It comes with a nice sheath and is VERY sharp. Too sharp for a splitting axe, in my opinion. This really needs to be a 1/2 pound to a pound heavier with a 6 inch longer handle to be extremely effective for me. It does have its place though. It has helped these old shoulders and wrists sneek out another year of hand splitting....before I have to buy a gas splitter. The lighter weight is really nice to swing. I like mine a lot."
