In these times of self isolation, we are offering a unique delivery option within Calgary. For a $35 donation to Fresh Routes Kevin Kent, our founder, will deliver your order by bicycle
Before opening the first store Kevin sold his wares from a bike and a backpack, and we are going back to these roots in difficult times. It also helps us to cut the carbon footprint of our regular shipping methods!
The original delivery bike, which now hangs in Knifewear Calgary.
Is this express delivery?
No, but it’s delivery with heart. By nature of bike riding in a large city like Calgary, Kevin does his best to deliver in a timely manner, but this method takes 1-4 business days. Kevin tries, but gets tired sometimes and has to finish deliveries the next day.
Are all deliveries done by bike?
Kevin does try to do all deliveries by bike, but some days the distances are too far or there are too many orders. On some occasions he may use a car, but rides his bike as often as possible.
Why bike deliveries?
Kevin turns 50 this year and wanted to celebrate with a long bike ride (Calgary to St John’s, NL), but has canceled because of current situations. This is a fun way for him to keep riding this year.
What kind of bike does he ride?
Kevin may choose from his trekking bike, folding bike or Amsterdam style delivery bike if there is a large order like a splitting axe.
What if I'm not home when Kevin delivers?
He will leave it outside in a mailbox or other private location.
Do I live too far away for bike delivery?
Delivery is by postal code, and you can check if this method is available at checkout.
Where does the $35 delivery fee go?
All of the $35 is donated to Fresh Routes. From their website:
